Configuring the AMI Readings Import Receiver Service

Configure the AMI Readings Import (ARI) Receiver Service in IEE to monitor the import directory for new data files.

  1. Go to System Administration > Service Management.

  2. Click Add Service.

  3. From Service Type, select AMI Reading Import Receiver Service.

    The Service ID is the user-provided name of the service. The name must be unique.

  4. Select the Enabled checkbox to allow the service to run.

  5. Set the Preferred and Alternate servers to run this service.

  6. Click Additional Setup, and configure the following parameters:

    Max Workbin File Size

    Set the maximum size of the created workbin file. The maximum allowed value is 10,240,000 bytes. IEE rejects larger file sizes.

    Scan Rate (in seconds)

    Set to 3.

    Days to Keep File

    Set to 90 days or higher. The files are useful for diagnostic purposes.

    Readings File Path

    Set to the Receiver's local path, which is scanned every [ScanRate] seconds for incoming files with the [Readings File Mask] extension.

    Reading File Mask

    Set to *.xml.

    Resubmit Path

    Designate the receiving path where reads from an unrecognized meter are sent. Type the local path or click Search to browse.

    External System

    Use the dropdown menu to select the (Itron OpenWay) external system associated with this receiver.

  7. Click Save on the Additional Setup dialog.

  8. Click Save on the Add/Edit Service dialog.
